This is my little attempt to tear down a belief system – “Anger, Indulgence, Arguing, Saying No – Is not Acceptable”. In Indian mythology itself, we have constructed temples, have been offering prayers to Maa Bhadrakali. She is epitome of fierceness – Black coloured, nude, scattered hairs, fire emanating from her eyes, ready to attack posture, blood lust, wearing necklace of skulls. Her appearance is definitely indecent and scary by society standards but still she is worshipped and glorified by large population. For me, her nudeness and scattered hairs represents a carefree, rebel nature. Her black colour and fiery eyes represents the burst of anger for all the limiting beliefs caging her since ages. Her attacking posture clearly conveys she wont settle for less. Her bloodlust is her acceptance of all the underlying desires (necklace of skulls) she never addressed and now they are never taking a back seat. She being seen as Goddess, tells me that she is an imminent part of our journey. She is an element of consciousness who has claimed its duality and is fearlessly accepting those parts of its being which were never validated, seen or loved. She is worshipped and devotees do tedious Sadhna to invoke her within them because the breakdown she brings is essential to break the chains. Its paramount to enter the new phase. Before construction of new, old has to go. Shedding the limiting beliefs, breaking the patterns of self doubt, accepting and loving the duality within, comes out Maa Mahagaura (Goddess of Purity) – the one who shares ownership with Lord Shiva, also called the Empress energy. Celebrate and invoke the Bhadrakali within you as she can only set the stage for new you, the whole you, the emperor/empress you, the creative you. It’s a blessing to be asked for.
